Martin Ridgwell is an Artist-Printmaker who lives and works in London. He studied for his Bachelor of Fine Art at Bradford Art College, and was awarded his Masters in Printmaking from Camberwell Art College in 2005. In 2006 he was awarded the Gwen May Student Prize from the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE) and he was made a Fellow of the RE in 2008. In 2011, He was appointed a Director and Trustee of Bankside Gallery.
Ridgwell was one of the original members of The London Printmakers. He is a regular exhibitor at major London Galleries, including The Royal Academy Of Arts, The Mall Galleries and Bankside Gallery. His work is held in national and international collections.
His work centres around the graphic realization of narrative situations, which are compelling and thought provoking, specializing in black and white etchings.
