Emily Crookshank is a painter and printmaker based in London. Since graduating from The Glasgow School of Art in 2011 her work has been exhibited across the UK, including in the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art 2016.
Lying within the tradition of drawing, Emily’s approach to making work is to be experimental and considered, bringing together multiple techniques in printmaking, painting and drawing. Her graphic works display a preoccupation with composition, form and weight. The marks often migrate beyond the edge of the paper, expanding the parameters of the picture plane and sustaining a tension between the artwork and the immediate space around it.
