Margaret Ashman is an experienced printmaker specialising in photo etching and screenprinting. She trained at the Universities of Hertfordshire and Brighton and is also an Oxford graduate. She is currently a member of the RE, the Printmakers Council and The Greenwich Printmakers.

Ashman's studies of deaf people signing, have led to work in which she addresses issues of religious faith, spirituality and emotion. Hands feature as a recurring theme in her images, whether re affirming positive qualities of human nature or as a means of expression.
